Hi there Ann...it looks like you are using a Hotmail account. I don't have a similar article for Hotmail most of my customers are in the Apple world, so iCloud was what they were more interested in...if you'd like me to, I can write up a document for you pertaining to Hotmail (I would of course have to be compensated for writing that custom documentation), but since I suspect you are OK with web based documentation, you might want to look at this link instead:

http://www.howtogeek.com/204776/how-to-use-rules-to-manage-your-outlook.com-email/

There you will find Microsoft's documentation about how to "Create Rules" on the Outlook.com site. If you happen to prefer my style of documentation, just let me know and I can fill you in on what I think it would take to get you your own instructions similar to what you see on this site. If you are wondering about how to do the same sort of thing for a different email provider you can do a search on your favorite search engine for "[enter your email provider here] webmail create rules and filters". That should get you on the right track to getting things set up in a way that gives you more control over what you see and those items you don't want to see. Best of luck, and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I found this Q and A by trying to search for how to block any email from icloud.com. I have been receiving sexually themed emails and ads for viagra and cialis and many of them come from an icloud account. So I made up my mind to try to block all icloud emails. I tried using *@cloud.com, but it didn't work and I tried just using the ending @icloud.com as the "if sender contains" this and it didn't work. Any advice?

 Comment on Remote Support – Apple by Greg M.

Misael - just for the sake of full transparency, my company (TECH90) provides remote and on-site services to my clients from all over the world. The information noted here does not represent LogMeIn (the distributer of LogMeIn Rescue) but does represent my opinions as the owner of TECH90. LogMeIn Rescue is a tool that anyone can license and use to remotely support computers and other compatible internet connected devices. Like any other tool it isn't dangerous until the person using it is doing so improperly; as mentioned, I use it to remotely support my clients. You were able to find this website because you likely entered a question into Google and they prompted you to have a look at our site (https://tech90.com). If you are looking for a direct opinion from the manufacturer of the product you can navigate to http://www.logmein.com. That is their corporate retail website where you can find contact information from them.

The great thing about LogMeIn Rescue over some of the other options out there (GoToMeeting/Glance etc), is that once the session is over, nothing gets left on your machine. There is not usually any app to uninstall, the one time use client you download, can't be used again by you or the technician you connected to. Therefore, if you've severed the connection LogMeIn is no longer up and running as a conduit for nefarious activity. What the technician does while the tool is running is not under the control of LogMeIn.

If I enter "Yahoo Customer Support" into Google, the first entry is for a third party support company with the domain PCAdviserO. (Please see screen shot)

<img src="https://tech90.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Screen-Shot-2015-03-11-at-8.34.35-AM.png" alt="Screen Shot of PCAdvisero" style="width:100%;"/>

These individuals (PCAdvisero) pay a lot of money to come up as the top sponsored ad for most IT related questions. For future reference, I always suggest to my clients to avoid the Sponsored ads provided by Google, those are sold to the highest bidder using a product called "AdWords". You can tell by the words "Ad" in front of the URL as well as the little "i" on the right side of the entry. Instead, make sure the URL of the site (http://www.abcdefg.com) actually reflects the company you are trying to contact for assistance. For example, instead of clicking a link pointing to "www.pcadvisero.com/support-yahoo" I would suggest selecting the one with the "help.yahoo.com" URL. Since, I am assuming, Yahoo is the company you were actually looking for.

I've had this situation in the past with several of my clients who clicked on one of these sponsored ad links in a Google search result (QuickBooks questions get this a lot) and were taken to the very same third party support provider that uses tools like LogMeIn to remotely control your screen. You specifically mentioned you were wondering if they "can still have access to my PC". It depends on how far into the process they got. On the one hand, if you didn't open the LogMeIn client executable, then just delete that download and it is highly unlikely anything nefarious was done. If you opened the executable and the third party actually logged into your machine, and you granted them elevated access permissions (entered your username/password) then it is possible that they could have installed other things that have a deeper nefarious purpose. I'm not sure where in the process they got to, so it is hard to say what it is they did. The only way to guarantee nothing was done is to restore your system back to what it was before this situation happened. The other advice I can give you is to install and keep a good quality Antivirus and AntiMalware product on your computer. That isn't a guarantee, but it is just a universal recommendation. Best of luck!
